انعقد صباح اليوم بقاعة الصداقة بالخرطوم اجتماع رؤساء وممثلي القوى الموقعة على الاتفاق السياسي الإطاري مع المبعوثين الدوليين الزائرين للسودان، مساعد وزير الخارجية الامريكي بالإنابة بيتر لورد ومبعوثة الإتحاد الأوربي للقرن الإفريقي انيت ويبر والمبعوث البريطاني الخاص للسودان وجنوب السودان روبرت فيرويدز والمبعوث الفرنسي الخاص للقرن الإفريقي فريدريك كلافيه والمبعوث النرويجي الخاص للسودان وجنوب السودان جون انتون وثورستن هوتر رئيس شعبة القرن الإفريقي بالخارجية الألمانية، إضافة لسفراء كلٍ من الإتحاد الأوروبي، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، المملكة المتحدة والنرويج وفرنسا والمانيا.
وشملت أجندة الاجتماع الإطلاع على مجريات العملية السياسية في مرحلتها النهائية حيث عرضت القوى الموقعة على الاتفاق الاطاري تصورها للخطوات القادمة وأهم التحديات وكيفية تلافيها لضمان الوصول لاتفاق سياسي نهائي في أسرع فرصة ممكنة. جدد المبعوثيين الدوليين دعمهم للاتفاق الاطاري الموقع في ٥ ديسمبر ٢٠٢٢ باعتباره الأساس الوحيد للوصول إلى توقيع اتفاق نهائي تتشكل بموجبه حكومةٍ مدنيةٍ ذات مصداقية تضطلع بمهام إدارة الفترة الانتقالية، وأكد المبعوثون الدوليون على تقديم الدعم للشعب السوداني لتحقيق أهدافه وتطلعاته في الانتقال الديمقراطي والتحول المدني، واستئناف برامج التعاون الاقتصادي عقب تشكيل الحكومة المدنية على أساس العملية السياسية الجارية.

A meeting was held this morning, February 8th, 2023. At the Friendship Hall in Khartoum. Which included the heads and representatives of the signatories of the Framework Political Agreement, as well as international envoys; US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Peter Lord, European Union envoy to the Horn of Africa Annette Weber, British Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan Robert Fairweather, French Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Frédéric Clavier, Norwegian Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan Jon Anton, and Thorsten Hutter, German Director for East Africa and the Horn of Africa, as well as ambassadors of the European Union, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Norway, France and Germany.
The agenda of the meeting included reviewing the course of the Political Process in its final stage, where the signatories to the Framework Agreement presented their vision of the next steps and the most important challenges and how to avoid them to ensure that a Final Political Agreement is reached as soon as possible. The International envoys renewed their support for the Framework Agreement that was signed on December 5, 2022, as the only basis for reaching the signing of a final agreement under which a credible civilian government will be formed to carry out the tasks of managing the Transitional Period. The International envoys emphasized the provision of support to the Sudanese people to achieve their goals and aspirations in democratic transition and civil transformation, and the resumption of economic cooperation programs following the formation of the civilian government on the basis of the ongoing Political Process.
